Should I swap out rattan chairs in our living room?

I rescued the raspberry high back chairs several years ago, they were in pretty bad shape but as you can see they were transformed into the stunners they are today. A couple months ago my husband was so proud to spot these two low back orphans sitting curbside on garbage day. Naturally he went back with the truck, brought them home and proudly sent me pictures of his great find. Now what to do? Am I ready to say goodbye to my tall beauties and I fall in love again? Then do I use the same color which I love or venture on to something different.

Home-talkers I am looking for your opinions

With some TLC they have potential opinions please, do they come inside, paint or stain and colors please.

I think the tall chairs are out of proportion to your other furniture and that the shorter chairs actually look better in the room. Of course, that is my opinion and you know what they say about opinions....:)

When in doubt, I try to swap out something temporarily to see if it works better. Your pictures indicate you are thinking along the same lines. Could one of the pairs be used somewhere else? On a covered porch or bedrooms? I love what you did with your old chairs. Is there another color you would like to try? Something to let you change up your style when you are in the mood?

We are thinking alike, and realize the current were great only in my mind

The high back chairs, though making a statement, seem to me to clash with your other furniture. The "new" ones would be better suited to the room - no matter what color you choose. And I'm wondering why you chose the gloss finish for your original pair. It makes them seem 'outdoorsy' and ready to fend off wind and water. Have a thought about giving the new chairs some much-needed TLC and then how about a deep blue to pull from the sofas and the cranberry red for cushions? Just a suggestion. Have a thought - and go with your 'gut'. It's your home, after all. YOU need to love it.

In real life the finish is not that glossy but more a satin but still big.

      Points well taken

I am never in this room and I had not realized how over-sized the current ones are. As I have had the probable replacements sitting I am making some positive observations, mostly I like seeing over them! Thanking those who have answered so far, I believe the switch decision has been made. Will be hoping to sell them on Craig's List.

Now I need to decide how to refurbish them, stain or paint and then color. I have always wanted a pop of blue so JAN may be onto something.

    Keep the comments/opinions coming.

The high backs are too tall and look out of place. They look like they belong outdoors. The shorter ones look like a better fit. Painted or stained your personal choice. I would stain them a medium darker color with gel stain.

I think you should put the tall chairs in an outside area if you have one. I think the lower chairs are really nice, I would also make cushions for the lower chairs.

I love the new chairs and think they would look great painted.

Perhaps split the tall chairs & place in a bedroom or den. I love them...even the color! The shorter chairs are your new pallet in this room. Perhaps teal, navy or even light wood color. New pillows all around & perhaps some up lighting. Have fun!

Have been toying with an espresso, dark black navy or black green. Don't want to match them to them "specifically" to the couches as I may not love them forever.

Shorter chairs look better. Table between chairs is too small though. Tall chairs are awesome though ! Definitely find somewhere else for those beauties.

You could keep the taller chairs if you could flip the couch and tall chairs locations. Put the chairs against the wall with a different table between and couch where chairs are now.. Or to right in pixs, is that a loveseat ? Big chair? You could flip the chairs to there and loveseat to the chairs location. Balances out the room better .
