Ann....I have never been inside a semi to know anything to help you out with in organizing. I understand some are fabulous and sleeping quarters are amazing. I do however want to join in Thanking You for your service to America in your endeavors to carry merchandise to enable us to live as we do and have what we have. My prayer for you and your husband is for safety and God's speed as you travel these roads and highways delivering goods to all! God Bless you both!

Assuming it's a sleeper I hope you have the shelves on the top. When my husband was driving that type truck, I utilized the shelves and put velcro on the bottom of each organizer to prevent slipping. We had a converter for a mini fridge and tv/video combo. I tried to get organizers that utilized the entire space even though it sacrificed the light from the windows up high. Roll clothing which gives a double benefit: space saving and wrinkles less.

I had a double bunk sleeper. I took a sheet of plywood cut to size and put it up on the upper sleeper. ( remove mattress up there) I recommend you put down a blanket and THEN the plywood to prevent rub marks up there that would detrimentally affect the re-sale value of your truck. To that plywood I attached a 1x4 lip across most of it. I left a gap for the microwave. I attached eye screws to that plywood one on each side of the microwave and used them to bungee cord the heck out of the microwave both across the top and across the front. If you were ever to get into an accident, that microwave would become one serious air-borne projectile. I used a milk crate on the floor to put my crockpot in while I was using it to cook. The milk crate stops it from sloshing or tipping over. You could also put bungee cords on the crate if you felt like you needed to while in motion. I also found a small coffee table with sliding glass doors. It fit up on that upper bunk perfectly. I used it to store any and all loose stuff like canned goods, boxed pasta, etc. I wanted the truck to look tidy so I removed the sliding glass doors and covered them with a pretty floral self-stick "Contact" brand shelf paper. That way you couldn't see the clutter inside the table. This was also the perfect place to store any pots and pans and cooking utensils. You can also set a coffee pot up there next to the microwave - again, adding eye screws so it can be bungee corded in place. Whatever you do - think safety! Pretend your truck just ran head-on into a brick wall. Would your "modifications" withstand such a hard blow? Don't let your living quarters become filled with potential flying missiles in the event of a crash. ALWAYS use at least three bungee cords on everything. If one were to snap from old age or whatnot, you would still be protected. Make VERY SURE your inverter is installed INSIDE your cab!! This not only keeps it cool in hot weather, it also lets you keep an eye on it if something were to start going wrong with it. I had one short out and start to MELT on me. It could have burnt my truck to the ground with me in it in the middle of the night! I drove OTR for 21 years. I owned my own truck for 8 but I ran solo. Bless you and Godspeed!

Last year we discovered probably the best (and most obvious) thing for organizing space in a semi truck - plastic boxes. Still, I guess Kite Flyer has given us the most all-comprehensive answer to that problem. Thanks a lot. You know, I work as a trucker and it’s way easier to organize space there than in a semi truck, actually. I’ve recently been hired as a truck driver, btw. I’ve always dreamed of shipping cars and now my dream has come true. The company from https://newjobs4you.com/job-board/all-options/ has hired me. Still, I have enough time to spend with my family. I work about 60 hours a week, and I dedicate any free minute to my wife and kids. Btw, guys, have you ever gone on a trip in your truck with the kids?

I started a construction project and also needed a reliable truck. In my case, I found a used trucks near me company and opted for a used truck, a "TrailMaster X-500," to fit my budget.

I invested in storage bins and containers of various sizes to maximize storage space. These helped keep my construction supplies and gear neatly arranged. I also used vertical space by adding shelves and hanging organizers, which freed up valuable floor space.

Before organizing, I sorted through my belongings, eliminating unnecessary items or duplicates. Sometimes, we carry things we don't need, which can take up valuable space. Labelling the storage containers was another helpful tip to locate items quickly.

Cargo nets or suction cup baskets are great for extra storage and they can usually be moved if needed.
