    A photo would help. However, I'd think that you could build wooden frames (painted) and insert glass or Plexiglas into the frames. Then mount over windows with an air gap between the panes. Window companies may have ready made solutions.

    We've thought of something similar, but the windows are very large. Almost patio door size, minus about 18 inches. The problem is also with mounting them without drilling into the vinyl walls/frames of the sunroom. We've used the winterizing plastics and tape, inside and out, and it's just so frustrating, time consuming, and impossible to get the glue off from the adhesive.

    I put up the very thin plastic with double sideded tape and works very well.
