Hi ! We covered out linoleum floor using peel and stick vinyl textured wood look planks . They look great !!! I bought 2 boxes off Amazon , they were really cheap , I was very happy with the quality !!!. My husband used it in the laundry room , it looked beautiful!!! I then bought it for the kitchen , entryway & both bathrooms !
I couldn't be happier . It was inexpensive and easy to do ! The cut with kitchen scissors or carpet cutter . No special tools needed !

As long as the vinyl is in good condition you can put new flooring right over top.
You can put new over the old, but the texture will show through. You can also put a thin luan plywood down over the current floor, then add the new floor over that.
