I have an outlet that would be right in the center of the 6 x 24 tile.

A tile cutter should work fine. You can rent one from your local home center. Or you can mark the square that needs to be cut and bring it to a tile store or your local home center and they should cut it for free or for a small fee.

This tool works as well for smaller tile pieces. https://amzn.to/2mTihnS

Check for a drill bit, drill holes in the shape/size of the outlet and tap out.

My last tile job I used a 4” right angle grinder with a ceramic blade/disc. The cuts were clean, quick and accurate.

Even my new (does EVERYTHING now) Dremel with a cut-off blade works great if you’re not rushing it and pressing too hard... people tend to get in a hurry these days. I used to be a remodeling and renovation contractor that specialized in custom floors, lots of tile, and I wish I had had one of these back then! Drill the pilot holes for the corners, etc., and connect the dots!
