Katzup...So many times it depends on where the screen is such as a door. I have noticed our screen door are some times pushed on the screen rather than the frame of the door. Ours is also nylon and is very easy to tear.
It might..we are going to have to do something too. The heavy coarse screen will eventually rust, that's the main reason we went with nylon. Wishing you good luck and keep us informed if you find a solution...will do the same!

Take it to a hardware store and have them install the screen.
