I normally use a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser and Dawn dishwashing liquid. If it is a porcelain tub, a pumice stone can be used to remove the water ring without ruining the finish. I hope this helps!

Lysol Power BathroomCleaner in the blue spray bottle is great for removing soap scum, etc. Scrub with a power scrubber, magic eraser, or scrub daddy.
Wet & Forget Shower for weekly maintenance to prevent having to scrub in the future, but not safe for marble.

Both Bon Ami cleanser and Bar Keeper's Friend cleanser are safe on porcelain.
If the issue is hard water, you may need to consider a water softener system.
The calcium stearate in most bar soaps is known to make deposits on bathtub surfaces, at the water line.
