Hi ! I hated the oak 1970's cabinets I had !!! The insets were scalloped ....
we were fixing up the house room by room , the kitchen was toward the end of the list . I wanted to do an easy cheap make over that could hold me over . I wanted a vintage cottage / industrial look.... I bought some beadboard and cut it to cover inset & scalloped area , glued it on and painted my cabinets , what a difference !!! I also painted my countertop , too . I posted my step by step tutorial on this site , called " New kitchen on a budget " good luck !
