Does painting deck boards cause them to rot?
I tired of continually putting waterseal on my deck. I want to paint them but have been told it will cause them to rot.

Nope. Painting them will not cause them to rot. But the paint can flake and peel over time. Why not just use a UV rated deck stain. Best protection would be a solid deck stain. Do not use any deckover products. They will cause the deck to rot.
I don't believe so. I have seen every other person paint their deck here where I live in Portland. I think you should be just fine.

No they will not rot get a penatrating stain that protects it will help but you will still have to reapply every 2 to 3 years
