How and when do I dig Cana bulbs?

How and when do you dig Cana bulbs? Do they have to freeze first?

    Joanne, our pastor's wife used to just cover hers with straw and a 5 gallon bucket in the winter to withstand the harsh Illinois winters. I am not sure about freezing them before you dig them or after for storage though.

      I live in State of Washington.I put them around 5 lamp posts. . 10 bulbs each. Condo center. For 10 years they were beautiful now this year they were very small. We store them in boxes in our garages in winter.

    In Kansas, they dig them before the first hard freeze. They’re brought into the basement or the garage.

    Dig up after the leaves die back but before the first frost.

    Thank you for your answers. Last year we dug them too early. And they were small this year. Like 2 feet compared to the years previous. 6 feet at least.
