How can I keep creatures, mainly skunks, from hiding under my deck?

Looking for something easy...will mothballs work?

    Put a motion detector light under your deck. Skunks are nocturnal and don't like bright lights. You might want to put lattice or some kind of fencing where they have access (once they are out); you could build frames and just use hardware cloth (similar to rabbit hutch wire) stapled on.

    The motion sensor light great idea;but if they want under porch bad enuf they will just dig under any barriers; also might try motion light with sound or even water motion senor sprinkler ;also try some 100% pure peppermint oil (not toxic/poisonous like the mothballs) pour it on cloth and put under/around edges of decking along with the lighting sound they'll stay away

    We used plastic lattice work to keep our chickens from going under hubby's guitar center. Not only practical but it looks nice too. All we have to do to keep it clean is to hose it down a few time a year.
