It depends on the cement you are using and if you are reinforcing the concrete with something. I have used wire mesh in the past, which works great with my huge elephant ear leaves. Weather and temperature fluctuations can make the heavier leaves more susceptible to breakage too. I cant remember the name of it, but there is a cement that you can mix in that makes your projects a little more "flexible"... not in the "bendy" sort of way, but it helps to stop breakage. They can probably tell you at Lowe's what the name of it is. I'm pretty sure the word flex is in it.;)
Here is one of our Hometalker site that will help. I never heard of flexible cement. It does need to be reinforced in some way. Drywall mesh tape. Chicken wire. Shredded fiberglass.

Probably too thin? You can install mesh in them for strength when doing the original pour.
Hello maybe you should consider adding string or wire into your mould as a strengthener, or frost proof mix! Hope that helps..........
