If they are returning there must still be a nest. Usually once you get rid of a nest the wasps don't return.

  • We had the same problem, Scott. My husband just kept spraying until they finally gave up. We had yellow jackets and they were persistent!

If you don't see a paper cone where they hang out they may have found a way into the siding. If you see a nest hanging on underside of eave knock it down and trash. No nest and they return; get someone to check if they found a way in.

    Hi Scott,

We solved a similar wasp problem, they were getting into small gaps where the siding trim met the siding.

What I did was protect any plants below with newspaper, then at dusk (dawn is good too-because they return to the nest to rest). I took an automotive spray protectant called Armor All and sprayed up there-it has a good distance stream to it on the plastic bottle. Be ready to run and get inside. The Armor All is a petroleum product and it coats the wasps' wings so they cant fly, usually they then just drop and die.

    Repeat as necessary.

To Ann, Deanna, Redcatcec, Kathy: thank you, thank you, thank you. I will gett 'er done and post my results.

  • Get a few dollar store paper lunch bags. Blow them up and puff them out. Hang from eves of house. Front, back and sides. They think it is a competing nest and will go elsewhere. Then tackle the rest, just call an exterminator to handle for you.
