How do I clean an old black sink?

t6he sink in my kitchen is black how do i clean it it has some sort of film on parts of of and looks awful...thanks

Have you tried using compound for cars? Or a clay bar, also for cars? Once it's clean, use Hope's Perfect Sink to keep it clean and shiny.
Bar Keepers Friend is the best sink cleaner I ever found. You can find it where Comet and Ajax are sold.

It has probably lost it's surface and needs to be re done, In the meantime if it is a stone of some type you could always try wipng it over with WD-40, it works on Marble. Good luck!
