Anne...Start with Kilz primer then paint...after clearning lst!
Hi Anne, prime with kilz, then select the color you like! Tape off areas to protect them and paint away!
The way I have done it is to sand off the glazed coat & then wipe them down to clean the dust off
Then I put wood filler into the straight line grooves to have a more straight wall effect
then used kiltz paint with primer in a semi gloss finish
and for an added touch added a chair rail boarder
