Turn Old Books Into a Knife Block
Hi, Ouida!
I created a tutorial to make a magnetic knife holder that mounts onto the wall. It has a wood base that can be stained or painted, with a magnetic tool holder to hold knives. I hope this helps!
I got a magnetic strip from harbor freight that's usually used in garages to hold tools for my knifes. I'm going to get a 8 foot shim at Lowe's to make a frame on the wall. I'm going to screw it in. I'm looking for a framed picture at thrifts store, I'll know it when I see it lol. I'll cut the shim to size around the knives and magnetic strip. Fit a pix over it hinged to the shim frame with 2 button magnets to hold it closed. Voila, cute pic which hides big knives which r easily accessible. Also thought of putting a small spice rack on the front by just putting wood in the frame in place of picture and attaching it. Still a work in progress. Hopes this makes sense.
