How can I remove countertops to clean underneath them?

If laminate They have screws underneath. Remove screws and cut the caulk against the wall.

For the most part it would be difficult to remove your installed kitchen countertops to clean and then try and replace them back as they were. You can access under the countertops by removing drawers and using a vacuum to reach areas where you normally don't see, as well as opening doors and removing all things in that cabinet to clean. Look up when you are peering into those areas! You will see the bottom of your countertop! You won't get to the area that is actually behind the cabinets-that would require removing the cabinets. One place you might be able to access is where a lazy susan is. On several of my cabinets I have butcher block that I can easily slide off as the butcher block is not attached but I cannot remove my professionally installed countertop as it would be difficult to get it back in the same position because of it's size, shape, and the matter of a sink being installed in it. Removing the butcher block only gives me the inside of my cabinets to see and clean so I don't need to remove the countertop to do that!



I'm not sure why you are wanting to remove to clean, but professionally installed cabinetry doesn't allow for that scenario. The reason, you have areas such as the kitchen sink that are sealed and grouted, as well as in many cases the back area from the cabinets to the wall has also been sealed and /or grouted depending upon what type of backsplash you have. If you are wanting to replace the tops and not the cabinents, then you will have to look at such things as the plumbing, electrical wiring, counter cook tops. Typically this is best left in the hands of a design professional.

Just to clarify, are you going to replace them with new counters?
