My Christmas cactus always does best when receiving filtered east or south light and when I kept the soil barely damp.

They are very carefree. Mine is in an east faking window with partial blinds (so not “direct” light but a good amount a light. I don’t do ANYTHING to it. It senses the changing light with the season and blooms like manic. They really require no maintanence as far as I’m concerned.
