    Hi Kathleen,

Have you thought to ask an Awning manufacturer or seller what they recommend?

Hello. We recently used wet and forget on discolored mildewed house siding. It was an amazing product and experience—spray it on and then the discoloration disappears over a matter of days. No need to hire a pressure washer professional to come here with a ladder to service my house in the tall areas.

It looks like from the link here—wet and forget can be used on fabrics. I would look over reviews and Q&A’s and see if it’s a product that might meet your awning cleaning needs. It was outstanding experience on my siding. I hope this helps!

If you do not like using chlorine or a product containing chlorine, which I do not like to use since I like to protect and enhance the environment, use rubbing alcohol or white vinegar. White vinegar is cheaper. Wash with soap, rinse so the soap is totally gone. Then rub in the vinegar thoroughly using a rag or brush. Ideally it will dry before the rain comes. In the N.W. this is best done other than in the rainy season (Oct through April are more rainy than other seasons!).
