How can I clean musty odors from antique dressers?
I’m looking for a tried and true way to remove that musty smell from antique dresser. I’ve cleaned it good with Murphy’s oil soap. It’s in perfect condition but has that old musty smell. I was hoping to store linens and bedding in it. Thank you.

Try putting some baking soda in your drawers for a few days. You can vacuum it out later.
Hi Toni,
I agree with Jeannie that baking soda should help. Also, if you live in a sunny area, you can open everything up - take out any drawers and put them in the sun for the day. That often helps. Wishing you the best.
Placing several bbq charcoal briquettes in bowls or paper or cloth bags and leaving them in the drawers for several days will help absorb odors. Just be sure to use plain charcoal NOT he type that has starter fluid added. This method worked well for me in an old musty-smelling basement.
Just bought extra baking soda and going to garage for the charcoal I may try both. Thanks so much for the answers.
This also got me wondering if the beautiful furniture flips we see on this site and Pinterest have the same issue?
