Hi Maria-teresa, here's some info I located for you. It provides the pros and cons of using vinegar in the treatment of bed bugs. I hope it is helpful to you.

  • Heat is what draws them out. You will be battling for months using vinegar, and I am a huge vinegar girl. Do yourself a favor and call in the pros. In the interim, you will unknowingly spread them wherever you visit.

    Please, please,please, call inthe pros!!!

They have the chemicals, the knowledge of how to treat bed bugs, technical staff who knows where to look and treat, also a warranty to keep coming back until they are gone. Vinegar offers no warranty and untrained home owners generally at a loss on how to treat this infestation. They spread like crazy and if you miss a new location where they have spread to in the house, you have prolonged the process and are spreading the infestation further, possible to a visitor or a neighbor's house.

Here's a true story. We visited a beach resort and the housekeeping staff missed the infestation of bed bugs in our unit, I got bit. I showed the bites to management and they confirmed they were in the bed and also the sofa. They took all our laundry, luggage, and personal items and treated them at their expense. Next was the unit, they quaranteened off our unit, the units above and below ours as well as the units on both sides of ours. All had to be treated as a precaution.

Best to you and call them in NOW!

      Hi Naomie,

Many thanks for your positive support, these creatures are horrible! Funny thing is my husband was never bitten by these bed bugs, I was covered with bites.

I get the impression people love stories and sometimes they can relate them to their own lives which hopefully makes it more believable, rather than the "not me" way of thinking.

Thank you again and love reading your responses to the many questions and situations thrown at us. You provide great responses and needed information to many.

      Best to you.

  • Hi Maria-teresa - Despite always preferring the all-natural method, everything I've read says it's best to go with the professionals for abatement. After the bed bugs are eliminated, this article is how to clean a mattress in 5 easy steps. Hope this helps! Hugs, Holly
