Use rust out drain by flushing after you turn water off and put old towel in bottom to catch liquid and squirt rust out on the stains
Kat, I agree with Kd. Turn the water off to the toilet tank. The turn off/on valve is usually near the baseboard behind the toilet tank. Flush the toilet a couple of times to get rid of as much water as possible. Mop up the remaining water inside the tank with an old towel or cloth. Then treat the rusty areas. Turn the water back on and let the tank refill by using the flushing mechanism. Back in business and the rust is gone.....at least for a while.
