Can I use laminate flooring as my kitchen backsplash?

I found some beautiful laminate flooring that is waterproof and stain proof. It looks like used reclaimed wood. I want to put it on kitchen walls as a backsplash. Any comments would be helpful

Sure. Just know if you cook on high heat it could melt behind the stove.
I have never done this but it certainly sounds like you could use it.
