Take your fall tablescape one step farther with this DIY utensil holder idea. It's easy to make, but your guests will feel extra special with the work you put into to creating the perfect look.

Step 1: Lay your roll of craft paper out and measure 9 1/2″ inches by 12″ and cut.

Next, lay your ruler along the top of the 12″ side and make a mark at 4″ and 8″. Bring down your ruler about 2 inches and mark four and eight inches again. Now measure from the top of the paper down 2″ and then draw a line.

Cut down that line 2 inches and fold the centerpiece down.

Next, fold in the sides.

Step 5: Fold under the bottom. Try laying your silverware next to the envelope to get an idea of how much you want to fold under, or you can fold it under about 2 1/2 to 3 inches.

Turn your sewing machine on the highest setting. Now start sewing inside the edge a little more than a 1/8 inch.

Run down each side and the bottom.

Once you're done sewing, you can be done and have created a great addition for your place setting or you can a small piece of twine and a little happy place setting tag and then glue it onto your utensil holder.

This tablescape came together in a cinch. If you want to know more about it, you can check out our post, Heartwarming Thanksgiving Table Decorations DIY To Try.

We hope this inspires you to add a little extra love to your tablescape this fall.

Very cute, just wondering, what does the 'highest setting' on my sewing machine mean? Is this similar to least number of stitches per inch, changing the tension, or maybe something else? I'm not familiar with this term. But I'd love to make this for the holidays. Think it would work on card stock? If so, the possibilities are endless!
