A great post from Linda, thiis method works well, just be patient, if all does not come off and go away, you can repeat as often as needed. It works on all stove surfaces.

If it has a chrome burner pan under the burner, eventually the chrome plating fails.

new burner pans can be bought cheaply, if one shops for them.

BARS KEEPER FRIEND IS GOOD TO USE ON THESE

use a razor blade to scrape the burnt stuff off .I use baking soda a vinegar and then just scrape it with the razor blade to get the heavy stuff off and then use glass cooktop clean after I wipe the mess off
