How can I make an inexpensive sliding separator for a living entry?

My son is now living with us and uses the living room as his room so I need to be able to block it off at night and open during the day. Any suggestions???

Perhaps a screen type of room divider would work for you. They are easily put up and taken down. There is a wide range of prices available too.

My granddaughter had this situation when she shared a rental apt. The facility itself rented out temporary "walls" that had a set of french doors in them. It looked complete but was easy to remove for the next tenant.
Emily has a good suggestion. I would recommend installing French doors, best of both worlds.
