How to clean my shower mat?

I put mine in the washer with a couple of towels. If it’s white use some bleach in it too.

What I would do is wash it in the washing maching with bleach, start the washer when ready and then let it soak by pausing the washer.Then continue the regular cycle.

If you mean the rubbery one with the suction cups, I put ours in the washer with a load of towels to provide friction. Also, I add Oxyclean and use warm water. Let it air dry.

If you mean the cloth one you step on when you exit the shower, I just launder it with towels.

I hang my soft plastic matt on the grab bar and spray it with a 10% bleach-water solution on both sides and let it sit, spray again if its cruddy until its clean.

Vinegar! Plain old white vinegar. And set in sun for a bit too.

Is it rubber or material?

Place the mat in the washing machine and set the machine to a gentle cycle setting and the water temperature to a warm or hot setting, to kill any existing mold, mildew or bacteria on the bath mat. Pour laundry detergent and a capful of white vinegar in with the mat to clean and sanitize.

For a rubber mat:

To eliminate mold or mildew, leave the rubber bath mat in the diluted bleach solution for 3-4 hours.

To freshen up the bath mat with a quick clean, scrub the rubber bath mat with a cleaning brush or scouring pad to remove dirt and debris after soaking for a few minutes.

From reading prior responses, I would soak it in water and hydrogen peroxide. You can wipe the black mold off the areas that have it with white vinegar, then rinse immediately. If the mat is rubber, vinegar, over time can be corrosive. Fill the bathtub with enough water to cover the mat. Then add hydrogen peroxide and swish around or use an oxyclean product. Place the mat in the bathtub upside down. Let it soak a few hours and come back and see how it is doing. You still will need a scrubbie sponge to clean the tough spots. When done, rinse well then lay on a towel to air dry.

If rubber, bleach is not the answer, even more corrosive than vinegar and will eat up the mat even faster.

When I was taking care of my mom, after every shower or bath, I took the mat up, rinsed well and hung over the tub side, suction cup side up to prevent mold and mildew. Yes, not exactly convenient, but it kept the mat in excellent condition for a long time.

I hang mine on the tub/shower's inside grab bar, and spritz it with a 10% solution of bleach and water on both sides, it there is mold in the little round suction cups I give it more applications until it disappears. Just don't add too much bleach and don't leave it in too long

Submerge completely in your tube and add baking sofa to the water .Make sure the bottom of therubber bath is facing up.leave the Matt submerged for an hour or so ,The mood should be gone.However it the mood has been on the mat fir a long time you may have to use a scrub brush.
