How can I clean an old brass flower pot?

How can I get old dried paint off an old brass flower pot? This pot is over 70 years old and I want to make it look as good as I can. Thank you for thinking about it. Elizabeth Nanaimo B.C.

If the pot is that age, then it is most likely solid brass, rather than brass coated.
Do you have any idea what kind of paint is on it, or where the paint came from?
It sounds crazy, but try vinegar, salt and ketchup. Here's a great post with more details.

To remove paint, use paint stripper. Once paint is off, ketchup works great for brass cleaning.
