A polyacrelic sealer will do it for you, here is an example

    Use three coats of Polycrylic.

  • Polycrylic is a good sealer because it's easy to use and won't yellow over time. Use several coats for the best protection.

    Hi Linda,

I agree with the others about using a Polycrylic. Be sure to use several coats and also watch it over the years to see if it needs another coat to keep it looking good. Just remember that you can't put hot pots on an acrylic finish. From what I can tell, if you need something that can handle hot pots, you'll need to look into epoxy sealers. I believe that Stone Coat can handle heat, but some other epoxy sealers can't handle the heat so be sure to read the label or research products before you start. Wishing you the best.

The Rustoleum plastic laminate coating systems don’t say a word about clear coating or sealing them.

im guessing you actually used paint.
