Soak them in pure blue Dawn dish soap. This will cut the grease on all pots and pans.

Soak in hot blue Dawn. Exterior you can use emery sponges, SOS or regular steel wool with barkeeper's friend. If interior is not non-stick, same. If non stick, then microfiber or netting type dish cloth for scrubbing. Perhaps those green pads that are safe for non stick.

Hot soapy Dawn water and a scrubby. Can use soft scrub too.

  • When cooking, as soon as I take the food out of the pot, I run hot tap water and add a squirt of Dawn. Let it soak while enjoying your meal. Then wash the pot! So much easier when soaked immediately rather than letting them sit on the hot stove where any remaining foods gets cooked on like concrete and becomes difficult to remove. However, never ever run cold tap water into a screaming hot pot as it can ruin it or on cheap cookware, can actually warp the pot.

  • Hi Imogene - This is a great tutorial on how to clean, season, and care for cast iron skillets. Hope it helps! Hugs, Holly
