I have great success using Peppermint essential oil. I put a little on a paper napkin and that goes into our bedroom and I put a few drops on the counter and wipe with a damp cloth. I love the smell and it keeps the gnats away.

A Friend told me they have gnat traps at Lowe’s that she uses that work great.
I use a glass jar, poke holes in the lid and pour some apple cider vinegar in. Gnats go into the jar but can't come out.
