I've seen where laminate is painted. Also, you could wallpaper or cover with contact paper.
Kathryn....You can clean well, prime then paint. Take the old hardware with you and purchase new just make sure the screw holes match. You should be very proud afterwards of your new kitchen. Good luck
If they’re real plastic laminate, not Melamine and not foil, then they’re worth re-laminating .
If you don’t feel comfortable borrowing a router & watching a YT video on this DIY, a cabinet shop can do this for you.
I would order a bunch of samples from Formica, Wilsonart & Pionite for choosing which P-Lam you like. Typically 5x7 is a good sample size.
