Hi Patricia, Did you know that WD-40 is an awesome cleaner? Spray on, let set a few, and wipe down really good. Won't take the finish / sealer off the wood. I used WD-40 on a set of kitchen cabinets that had NEVER been cleaned. Took 3 - 4 hours, some elbow grease, but oh my goodness,!! underneath all that buildup, was handmade kitchen cabinets, made in black walnut, Handmade.!! It became a focal point in the home. Well worth the effort..give it a try. May take several tries, but it will be worth the effort.

  • For a butcher block, you don't want to add anything to it that is unsafe for food. So, the safestest and easiest thing is hot water, a small amount of dish soap, and vinegar. Spray a thin amount of vinegar all over surface, then come through and scrub with the hot soapy water. Wipe off with a dry towel.
