I love the popular little red farm truck decorations that are all the rage right now. They take me back to a childhood when life was more simple and everyone owned such a truck at one time. I checked out some stickers online to make some banners and they were costly. This is a fun project and could be even used at a slumber party, a snow day, or get together. It felt more like a day to relax and color. I made two banners out of one! Just flip it over for the next holiday. This could be applied to New Years and Valentines or any two up coming celebrations.

I found the stencils for two such banners online: Autumn and Christmas.

I keep contact paper on hand, but I found several more I want to try. For this one I chose the light grey wood pattern. I traced the stencils with a pencil then colored with Sharpie markers. It was that easy.

Cut the contact paper to length and attach it to itself by folding it over itself. OR if it is easier, you can use some cloth between them. I am used to wrestling with contact paper, but if you are inexperienced you may find it a bit "sticky" and "unforgiving" to lay the sticky side to itself without something between them.

With the contact paper cut the right size and folded onto itself, I now had two sides to stencil my pictures.

Then with the Sharpies I colored the traced words and pictures. Sometimes I outlined with the black and sometimes I did not. It really was that simple.

Add a dowel rod between the two layers, glue some beads on the end, add a ribbon to hang it, and you are done! It really was that easy!
