Cherry and White Farmhouse Table Revamp

For the longest time I have wanted a kitchen table with white legs, a wooden top and white chairs. I think a set like that is just beautiful and would match the look we are going for in our home just perfect! So I set out on a search – I have been to countless furniture stores and have several on my amazon wish list – but haven’t been able to find anything I love within my price range.
While browsing the internet one night for said table – I noticed that some of the photos I was looking at were “refinished” tables and I thought “I could do that!!!” and “why didn’t I think of that!?”
The next day I busted out my tool box and started taking apart my kitchen chairs so I could create my own Cherry and White Farmhouse Kitchen Table Revamp!
The Finished Table
A quick before photo to see what the table and chairs looked like.
Priming and painting each piece.
I used my kreg jig to drill pocket holes and attached my 1x6's together.
I built a frame and a table skirt for the table top using 2x4's and 1x4's.
I love the contrast of the white against the cherry.
I attached the newly built table top to the base using 3" screws and then stained it in place --- with the back door open for good ventilation!

Sealed with 3 coats of semi-gloss polyurethane.

I love this idea. I am also interested in the art on the wall behind your table. Did you make them? If so do you have a how to on home talk?

WOW!! It completely changes the look! I wish I would have thought of that when I BOUGHT my new table because I wanted a rectangular one and my old one was round. Aaarrrggghhh!
