Is the glass tempered? Doors are required to be tempered glass.
If the width of your opening is going to increase, then you must rip out the framing & install a larger header.
If this is an exterior wall, you’ll also need to install flashing, door threshold, insulation & caulking around this area.
The impervious pad (concrete typically) outside the door needs to be the size of the door.
For example, a 3’ wide door needs a 3’x3’ concrete pad, 1-2” below the finished floor and more than 4” above grade.

If you’ve all of these conditions, then you’ll need a pro helper, to help you with the framing.
