When we moved into this older house, there are 2 windows leading to the garage addition from the kitchen; 1 on each side of the door. (looks into the garage). How can I repurpose these to make them not so obvious?

Hello Ruth! Do you have a picture so we can see what you are working with. You will get some good ideas if you can add a picture!

Well, depends on what style your kitchen is but some that fits any style could be spray frosted glass paint and hang two beautiful wreaths on or a nice valance courtains. Or put a shelf on the bottom part of the windows and seat some nice pots with your kitchen herbs, and voila!!

I am trying curtains but don't like the looks (used full sets on both but it just seemed too much).

Ruth...Add some pretty fabric, use tension rods at top of windows and bottom. Add a hem to your cut fabric at top and bottom for each rod...keep the fabric full so it covers well. You can even paint the framing of window a coordinating color from fabric. Also might cover panes with contact paper or use paints and turn them into stained glass. Good luck...send a picture after you complete your project!

Some privacy film would look great on the door window. Amazon has lots of designs for very reasonable prices. It won't make the window less noticeable but it will allow more light into the room! Maybe some wooden or bamboo blinds on the windows rather than white/cream. Thanks for the picture!

Can you take the window pane section out and put shelves in the openings? You would have to have a back on your shelves but if these windows are situated right, it will look like the bookcase like shelves were put there purposely.
