How can I repair a garage door opener that won't work in cold weather?

how can this happen? We have a garage door opener that for the past few years will not operate properly when the temperature is below 45 degrees. The door will not go down using the remote and will only go down by using the button on the wall and holding it til the door is all the way down

Hi Cindy, sorry you are having problems with your garage door. Hope this information helps you. Good luck. In heated conditions, a low amount of grease doesn't usually cause a problem. But, when it gets cold outside, the garage door won't open in cold weather if you are low on grease. When it gets colder, having a low amount of grease can halt operation of the door from closing and opening.Jan 3, 2017
