Cheryl....I spray sometimes with something I have and I have painted with leftover paint using a regular paint brush or a sponge brush. Of course, clean well before you begin. Good luck

I either paint mine with acrylic paint or spray them. Both methods work really well on clay pots :)
I’ve seen a lot of paint coming off of clay pots over the years. I believe this is because the clay can’t breathe.
Therefore, I would use diluted water based paints.
You could use acrylic paint or spray paint
