How can I cover a tile countertop?

Hi all you DIYers out there. I'm looking for suggestions on what I could do to cover my very ugly, white, tiled counters. I recently saw some information about using a contact paper type product, but the tile is not smooth-it's the 4 x 4 grouted type. I can't afford a rip out and replace, so I've got to watch my pennies. Thanks for your help.

Your best bet is to paint with the Epoxy paint kits made for tub and tile. Just know all paint is delicate on tile but epoxy will hold up the best. It will buy you time to save up for replacement.

Tear out is really cheap. You just need a couple of hand tools and some gloves and eye protection. To replace a product after removing the tile, you can use inexpensive products such as Formica that you glue to the existing substrate after you pop out the tile. I'm with you, though, tile is a terrible counter product unless you use the schluter system.
