Maybe replace the area with tile or other flooring. To fix the carpet you would need to have left over pieces you can patch with.

use tile or even put a welcome mat that matches your decor over the damage which would actually look cute

How bad is it? Sometimes you can trim the nap on some carpets with scissors. Otherwise cover it with a rug.

Obviously, training the dog will help prevent further destruction, but it will not restore the carpet. Have you tried contacting a cleaning company? I have heard that they are also engaged in the restoration of rugs of any complexity. Many will say that in such situations it is much easier to buy a new carpet. For me, this is a significant financial burden. And what guarantees are there that the dog will not spoil this carpet? I constantly monitor the condition of the carpet to prevent unwanted economic costs and keep the house clean and tidy. Once I went on a business trip for a few weeks, my younger brother watched the house. Obviously, there were parties with a huge number of people. Unfortunately for my brother (and maybe for myself), I arrived earlier and was amazed at the state of my house. It was a terrible picture. The carpet! It seemed to me that it could not be restored at all. But I did not lose hope and asked for help from https://procarpetrepairs.com.au/. Who needs it, here is their contact number 0480 022 643. The result - the carpet is restored, without high financial costs!
