Use your exhaust fan, scented candles, Fabreeze.
An ozone machine is the only thing that completely destroys odors. You can rent them or purchase. I bought one from Amazon that is invaluable and was only about $100.
Hi Ann: You can get a pot of water and put your favourite spices in to and simmer them to make a natural air freshener. Use whole spices like cinnamon sticks, cloves and citrus peels.
You can also leave a bowl of vinegar, baking soda or coffee grounds over night.
To absorb stubborn odors, leave a small bowl on the counter filled with white vinegar, baking soda or coffee grounds before you go to bed. Any of the three will naturally dissipate any remaining cooking smells by morning.
Finally, clean the tinsels you cooked the food in, immediately, and maybe open the windows and turn on a fan :)
I use my exhaust fan while I cook. I have a wax melt that I use for fragrance.
