How can we make over the curve of this railing (pic)?

My husband was going to peel the vinyl off and put wood, but can't figure out how to do the curve, so weneed another option. Painting looked ok for a short time, but looks awful now.

Perhaps something similar to paint but more durable. Would some type of liquid flex coat be an option for you? If you painted it again after sanding a few light coats of poly would make it more durable. Contact a local paint company or store and ask their opinion. They should have a better idea of what is available and work best for you.

Paint is the best solution. Rustoleum 2X paint. If it's plastic coated use Krylon Fusion. Sand well.

JB Weld makes an epoxy for vinyl, if you have pieces coming off. Fill in and sand, then do as William suggested and get the Krylon Fusion, that stuff is awesome.

You can also use Bondo to fill in the curve. Sand, prime with a gripper primer, and paint. Make sure you top coat it with either polyurethane or polyacrylic. If you keep the railing white do not use Polyurethane it yellows, polyacrylic will not yellow. Or you can use Spar Varnish.
