How can I cover sheetrock without ripping it out?

want to leave sheetrock on walls, no ripe outs, look something go on top, hopefully no painting, have COPD, love doing projects, can't breath with sanding if sheetrock or paint fuse, need some ideals

    How about covering it with fabric. In my daughters bedroom the previous owners had picked very pretty and brightly colored sheets and covered the wall. It was very pretty.

    Hi Sandy, you might try covering the sheet rock with fabric. You can use various designs, use flat sheets in king size, or upholstery fabric, or even tablecloths or shower curtains....whatever design you like best. The fabric could be thumb tacked in various areas. This would eliminate the need for paint or sanding. Some people have even used liquid starch to adhere fabric to walls so the fabric can be removed later by spraying water on the fabric and pulling. That may not work well on your sheet rock if it hasn't ever been finished off. Here's a tutorial.

    Textured wall papers would work. There are so many options these days that I am sure you can find something you will fall in love with.
