Find out where there getting in, then stuff holes with steel wool. mothballs are a great deterrent , for inside or out. And when all else fails I use decon mouse poison. They eat out, and it dries them out when they die, so there's no smell.

Mouse traps at the dollar store. Both chipmunks and mice like peanut butter for bait.
