Vintage Suitcase Makeover

I have no problem painting furniture but when it comes to smaller items, I leave them “as is” for way longer than I should. I am always worried that I will ruin the item. The items I picked up specifically to makeover are from garage sales, Good Will and the curb a.k.a other peoples junk. I think I get stuck on the “what if’s”. What if it turns out ugly? What if I ruin it? What if I make a mistake?
I decided to tackle my fear of What if and give my suitcase a makeover.
I cleaned up the suitcase and gave it two coats of homemade Linen White chalk paint.
Once the paint was dry, I used green painters tape and painted stripes using the wall color in my entry. I started with the skinny stripes first and then painted the wider, middle stripe. I removed the tape as soon as I finished painting the stripes.
I applied Antique Gold Rub n Buff to the hardware and finished the suitcase by wrapping the handle in jute.
