I want to dye a white shower curtain to a light gray color, but I do not have a front loader washing machine. do you wash the shower curtain before dying it, since it is kind of dirty

I would definitely wash it first, then use a dye suited to the fabric the shower curtain is made from. Dylon brand dye works really well with all types of fabric and can be found at most craft stores or online. I hope this helps!
