How can I make over a bathroom vanity?

Aloha-I’m attempting to redo/refinish/change our master bathroom. I’ve got MS and need it to work for me. It stresses me out just to be in there. My question is we’ve got contractors double fake cultured marble. It’s old and yellowed with stains. Sinks are built in to countertop. Did I say I DESPISE it. I’m operating on limited funds. Planned on painting bottom (cabinet and drawer area). What can I do to the vanity top? I’m feeling more than overwhelmed. Any advice? Please, HELP! Mahalo

I used this idea and made over my bathroom last spring. I had dark brown cabinets and painted those white. Here is a pic of how it looks now sorry I didn't take a before pic also. The first picture is where the dark brown counter top was primed with white paint. I did this because the stone spray paint isn't a solid cover . The second photo is the finished product.

I did learn the hard way that you need to stop every few minutes and wipe the nozzle of the spray can because it can and will develop drips and that will ruin your look you are going for. Also when removing the newspaper used an something to make a clean cut or the newspaper so it doesn't disturb your new finish.

I also used a water based poly since I didn't want to take any chances of this yellowing. You can see my sink is not built into the counter top but the sink in the link below is.

Here is the detailed link to the project.

How about visiting quartz suppliers for "over runs" at a discounted price, for countertops. Check supply places/Habitat for Humanity stores for sinks, vanities and faucets (single handle or levered styles are easier to operate).

I had an ugly 1970's yellow Formica vanity top in my 1/2 bathroom , the white ceramic sink was ok . I bought a few dollar store table clothes and taped up around the bathroom , also covered and taped the sink. Then I cleaned the vanity top and scuffed it with a sanding sponge , and wiped away the dust . Then I spray painted the vanity top with 2 light coats of hammered bronze spray paint and 2 coats of clear coat . Good luck with your project !!!
