How do I repair or repaint flaking drawer fronts? My cabinet doors have that plastic coating finish, but after 15 years, they're starting to look really ratty.

Scrape and then scuff with steel wool. Clean with denatured alcohol. Then you can re paint with plastic formulated spray paint.

I didn't think about the spray paint. I'm already familiar with it because I used it on some of my outdoor chairs. Thanks!

Flaking sometimes happens when the surface was not properly prepared or the wrong paint was used or it just gets old. I would take off all the paint by chemicals or sanding and start fresh after a good sanding. Then be sure to prime the wood with good primer before you paint it as you like.
