Since you have them down, wash them in a bathtub inside. Draw enough warm but not boiling water; add 1 cup of vinegar, 1/4-1/2 cup if Dawn dishwashing liquid to the water. Use a scrubbing sponge to clean every blind, front and back, plus any hardware you removed. Rinse everything thoroughly, then dry all the hardware and repaint it, if you want. You can let the rinsed blinds dry in the sunshine, or use soft cloths and even a hair dryer to get them dry without scratching the design. Blinds can be dyed, spray painted, or brush painted, too. They can also be wallpapered, one blind at a time, or lay them out flat, apply the wallpaper to one side, let dry, then use scissors or a craft knife to cut the pattern between the blinds. Brush paint the cords. Rehang and get ready for compliments. Jewell

I hang mine in the shower, wet them down, use a duster with Dawn dish liquid and water, then rinse and let drip dry.
